The weekend’s schedule:

Friday, March 13

2-5pm: Light on Women's Practice: Cleansing and Toning with Surya Little

This class focuses on lateral twists and supportive backbends to open and energize the chest and lift the spirit. In this practice we release blocked energy and tone the internal organs so that the flow of energy is balanced. We will use inversions with variations to support mental tiredness, nervous exhaustion, calm the nerves, and to sleep more soundly.

6-8pm: Twists to Improve Circulation with Tias and Surya Little

This class involves twisting movements for the spine, organs, muscles and skin. Through supine, seated and standing poses come prepared to release blockages in the gut, shoulders and spinal musculature. Twists help to squeeze, flush and replenish the tissues of the body. They allow the breath to flow deeper while revitalizing the blood and boost energy. After moving through a sequence of twists, we practice pranayama to expand the lung tissue.

Saturday, March 14

11am-1:30pm: The Sacrum, Hip Joints and Low Back with Tias and Surya Little

This class is a deep dive into the structures around the hips to build strength and stability in the low back. We take a slow progression through the many angles of rotation in and around the hips to generate fluidity in the sacrum, sacral-iliac joints and pelvis. We practice SATYA, standing poses and seated poses to generate a stream-like flow of prana through the spine.

3-5:30pm: Nadis, Circulation and the Joints with Tias and Surya Little

In yoga the nadis are described as rivers of energy that flow through the body. They are circulatory pathways of blood, lymph and nerve that flow through all the connective tissues. There are thousands of small tributaries throughout the body that move via arcs, curves, spirals and elliptical patterns. In this immersion, we do SATYA movements and yoga postures to increase circulation through all the tissues of the body. We use rocking, circular and spiral movements to release the fascia and joints of the body. When there is uninhibited flow through the currents of the nadis there is radiant health and longevity in the body.

Sunday, March 15

11am-1:30pm: The Tao of Yoga with Tias and Surya Little

The Tao suggests the natural evolution of things that occurs over time. The essential spirit of the Way is inseparable from the natural world—the currents of rivers, the erosion of mountains and the formation of snowflakes. For many, the Tao is simply known as the path of water. In this class, we bring together the fluidity of SATYA and the suppleness of a yoga practice to embody the flow of the Tao. In every movement we look to cultivate ease and naturalness and embody naturalness, fluidity and flow. This practice begins with insight and reflection on passages from the Tao Te Ching.
